Mercedes R Class - dropped in the USA
Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that it will debut the new Mercedes GL at the New York Auto Show in April, and the R Class is being dropped from the US. The big Mercedes GL SUV has been around for a while now, and we’ve been expecting a facelift version to arrive for a while. But reports are now saying that the new GL won’t be a mild facelift but an all new model.
Volvo has released details of an R-Design version of the XC60
Still, more power isn’t everyone’s cup of tea – particularly at the moment – but many buyers like a bit of ‘butchness’ in their cars. And to be completely fair to Volvo, although they haven’t messed with the oily bits for more oomph, they have played with the suspension for more feel. Volvo say the XC60 has improved steering (thanks to ‘Direct Steering Gear’), stiffer damping and a more robust chassis.
Citroen DS5 - another convincing DS Citroen
We had the arrival of the Citroen DS5 trumpeted as long ago as 2009 when we revealed that the DS5 would arrive in 2009, complete with hybrid diesel powertrain. Despite the official debut of the DS5 being just days away – and Citroen teasing the DS5 with a photo of a headlight last week – the powers that be at Citroen have decied that we ought to at least have a few photos and some detail ahead of Shanghai. How kind.
